Which Laptop is best ?

If we want to buy a laptop then nowadays lots of products are available in market like IBM, DELL,HP,HCL etc which have different configurataion. Now its very difficult for a common person to decide which actually suites their requirement based on their budget.

If you go to a frnd who is already using a laptop then definitely u r on right track but what happen if u dont hav the same budget as like ur frnd or not having the same kind of requirement.

Here u stuck and u need advice from others. This blog post is intended to invite all those users to post their review/comments honestly describing features to help others to deicide go for it or not.

I will start with a very famous brand of Laptop that is used worldwide(UK,US) but not that much in INDIA due to other available popular brands like HP,HCL,lenovo.

DELL is a brand that provide customization for the customer like graphics card ,ram size etc.

For a common person [ like me] that wants laptop for usual mailing,watching movies, listening songs, videos along with occasional playing games its really a waste of money to spend on high end processors /laptops. Instead they should go for a reliable brand with minimum configuration.
Basic features we should look for :

14/15/16/17 inch screen [ larger screen size, large luggage to handle, so prefer 15 inch]
1.8 Ghz processor is enough [Athlon is much cheaper nd save money but prefer intel pentium for long lasting run ]
2 GB ram [Atleast required for smoother performance of vista but if u r using XP then 1 GB is more than enough]
Hard disk 80GB is enough unless u r fond of storing 100s of movies then go for 250 GB
Others features if u would let default then also its fine like cd/DVD RW, wifi/graphics card etc.

One basic feature that most of the common person ignores while purchasing laptops is its battery backup time. I would suggest always confirms from vendor the backup time is how much and a range of 1.5-2 hr of more is good for long run as u dont like always a power cable is connected to the laptop.

With above feature i found DELL is perfect for a budget starting from 30k to 50k.
The only thing that irritates me for this laptop is its sound from speaker i would prefer using headfone instead. But here still u can customize from DELL by asking for some good quality speakers.Thats the only pain i feel about, rest its all excellent in terms of performance.
